PTA Open House -- Thursday, August 31
The PTA will hold an open house at Longfellow from ? to ? on Thursday, August 31 in the library. Please drop in for refreshments and a chance to get to know other Longfellow parents and PTA members.
New Student Orientation -- Friday, September 1
All 7th graders, and 8th graders who did not attend Longfellow last year, will receive an orientation at Longfellow on Friday, September 1. School buses will pick them up at their regular bus stop and return them after the orientation. At the orientation, they will receive their schedules, meet their teachers, and receive their "first day packets."
Parents do not attend this orientation. Returning 8th graders do not attend this orientation (they will receive their schedules and first day packets on the first day of school).
More information about the new student orientation will be mailed to you in late August.
Back to School Night
7th Grade Parents -- Thursday, September 21

Parents, please plan to attend the back-to-school night for your child. This is your best opportunity to meet your child's teachers, to learn about classroom procedures, and to find out which other students are in your child's classes.
At back to school night:

The first general PTA membership meeting of the year will be held in the cafeteria. | |

The school directory will be available to parents | |
|
You will have a chance to follow your child's day, and go from classroom to classroom to meet his or her teachers. | |
|
Teachers will provide you with information on their classroom procedures and the curriculum. |
Please note that parking is at a premium at Longfellow. On Back-to-School night, make plans to carpool with other parents if at all possible.
